Teardown Report: DJI 140W GaN Charger Uses YMIN NPX Series Solid Capacitors

The ” Imprint” in DJI’s 140W Charger

Recently, ChargerLAB published a teardown report of the DJI Power 140W 2C1A GaN charger. As DJI’s first 140W GaN charger, this product adopts a PFC+AHB power architecture, supports PD3.1 140W output, is compatible with all DJI devices, and supports intelligent power allocation.

During ChargerLAB’s detailed teardown, a key discovery attracted industry attention— solid-state capacitors were used in the charger’s output filtering stage.

This allows capacitors to enter DJI’s high-power charging products within the drone ecosystem, providing component support for rapid power replenishment of DJI drones, action cameras, handheld gimbals, and other mobile imaging devices. This collaboration also marks a deep integration of , DJI, and drones in the high-end power supply field.

Disassembly List: Capacitors Confirmed

In the output filtering section, disassembly revealed that the DJI 140W charger uses multiple solid-state capacitors, specifically:

NPX Series: (Main Output Filtering Unit)

· 1 35V 330μF solid-state capacitor

· 2 35V 470μF solid-state capacitors

This series features miniaturization, low ESR, high ripple current tolerance, and high temperature resistance (105℃/2000H). Voltage ranges from 6.3 to 100V, and capacitance ranges from 2.2 to 10000μF. It effectively suppresses power conversion ripple, ensuring stable 140W high-power output.

LKF Series: (Automotive-grade long-life solution)

· One 35V 470μF liquid capacitor

7-23-4

This series supports a wide operating temperature range of -55℃ to 105℃, is AEC-Q200 automotive-grade certified, and boasts a lifespan of 7000~10000 hours at 105℃, making it suitable for demanding operating conditions with extremely high reliability and lifespan requirements.

The two series work together to balance ripple suppression capabilities for high-power output with long-term reliability, providing a solid guarantee for DJI chargers to deliver continuous and stable power under dynamic loads and high-temperature environments.

series Temperature/Lifetime (°C/H) Voltage (V) Capacity (μF) Dimensions (mm)
NPX 105℃/2000H 35V 330μF 6.3×15mm
NPX 105℃/2000H 36V 470μF 8×10mm
LKF 105℃/7000~10000H 35V 470μF 10×16mm
LKF 105℃/7000~10000H 36V 471μF 12.5×14mm
